Outlook Express
Begin by opening your
Outlook Express program, once you see that the
mail program has stopped loading, you are ready to
proceed with the setup.
The first step is to
select tools from the toolbar, from there scroll down
and select accounts, this will bring up your mail
settings window. Hit the add button and select mail,
fill out your real name and hit next.
The next window will
ask you for your email address, make sure that the server type is set
to POP3. Set your incoming POP account to
"mail.comcat.com", your outgoing (SMTP)
server should be set to "mail.comcat.com".
Next, enter your login name and password (these
should be the same as your Comcat login name and
password). Lastly, enter a "friendly name"
to call this account.
You are now setup and
ready to send and receive mail.
Oulook

Begin by opening your
Outlook program, once you see that the mail
program has stopped loading, you are ready to proceed
with the setup.
The first step is to
select tools from the toolbar, scroll down and select
services. To use Microsoft Outlook you must have the
following items listed in the services window:
Internet Mail, Personal Address book, and
Personal Folders. If any of these items are not in
the services window, you will have to add them. For
example if you click on the add button, it will bring
up a number of items that you can add to your mail
program. Continue to do this till you have those
three items listed in the services window. When this
has been done we are ready to proceed with the
set-up.
In the service's
window, highlight Internet Mail and select
properties. Enter your real name, your email address, The mail server: mail.comcat.com, your
Comcat user name, and password and then click the
connection tab.
Depending on where
your calling from you will have to select one of the
two types of connection. Choose network if you do not
dial up on a modem from your machine, choose modem if
you do dial directly. Make sure Comcat is in the
"Dial using the following connection"
window, If not use the arrow key and select Comcat.
Click Apply at the bottom and then OK.
You are now ready to
send and receive mail.
Exchange
/ Windows Messaging
Begin by opening your
Exchange program, once you see that the mail
program has stopped loading, you are ready to proceed
with the setup.
The first step is to
select tools from the toolbar, scroll down and select
services. To use Microsoft Exchange you must have the
following items listed in the services window:
Internet Mail, Personal Address book, and

proceed with the setup.
Select Mail from the
toolbar, then scroll down and choose options. Select
the server tab and enter the following; your name,
organization name, and email address.
The Outgoing and
Incoming mail servers are both mail.comcat.com. Logon
settings include your account name and password, you
will want to use your Comcat username and password
for these spots. Click the Advanced Options button.
Enter your email address in the reply-to box, then
click OK. Click Apply and then choose the Connection
tab.
Specify how you
connect to the internet, If your using a Lan
connection select Lan, For Dial up users you will
want to select Modem and make sure Comcat is in the
lower window, if not use the arrow key and highlight
it. Click Apply and OK.
Your now ready to send
and receive email
Netscape
Mail
Begin by opening your
Netscape Browser, once you see that the mail program
has stopped loading, you are ready to proceed with
the setup.
On your Netscape
browser select options, from there scroll down and
hit Mail and News Prefrences. this should bring up a
window with tabs across the top, We are only
interested in the server tab and the identity tab.
First select the
server tag, and enter the following information. The
outgoing mail (SMTP), and the incoming mail(POP3)
should both be set to mail.comcat.com .Your POP3 user
name is your ComCat login name, from here jump to the
News Server and enter "news.comcation.net".
At this point select
the Identity tag from the top of the window. Fill in
your real name and your email address . If you have a domain name and an
alias set-up you would enter that address here in the
reply address box, If not leave it blank. Click OK at
the bottom of the window.
You are now ready to
send and receive mail
Eudora
Begin by opening your
Eudora Mail program, once you see that the mail
program has stopped loading, you are ready to proceed
with the setup.
The first step is too
select Tools and then select options. Begin the
set-up procedure by highlighting Getting Started,
enter your email address where it say's POP account. .
Next you should enter your real name, and select
Dialup as your connection method. Click OK and move
on to Personal Information.
Once again enter your
email address where it asks for your POP account.
Enter your real name, Your reply address can be left
blank if this will be the only email address you use.
Lastly, enter your dialup user name for Comcat at the
bottom of this window. Click OK and let's move on to
Hosts.
Once again enter your
email address where it asks you for your POP account.
Your SMTP will be your outgoing mail server, enter
mail.comcat.com in this space. You will not need to
fill out the remaining two blocks (Ph and Finger).
Click OK and move on to the Checking Mail screen.
The only item you will
have to enter here is your POP account. You should
type your email address in this window. Click OK and
jump to Sending Mail.
Last but not least, In
the Sending Mail screen we need to enter a return
address, this should remain blank if your only using
one email address. Otherwise call ComCat for
assistance. The only other item on the screen that we
need to fill in would be the SMTP server. Enter
mail.comcat.com in this window and click OK.
You are ready to send
and receive mail.
Outlook
98
Begin by opening your
Outlook 98 program, once you see that the mail
program has stopped loadi ng, you are ready to
proceed with the setup.
The first step is to
select tools from the toolbar, from there scroll down
and select accounts, this will bring up your mail
settings window. Hit t he add button and select mail,
fill out your real name and hit next.
The next window will
ask you for your email address, make sure that the serve r type is set
to POP3. Set your incoming POP account to
"mail.comcat.com", your outgoing (SMTP)
server should be set to "mail.comcat.com".
Next, enter your login name and password (these
should be the same as your Comcat login name and
password). Lastly, enter a "friendly name"
to call this account.
You are now setup and
ready to send and recieve mail.
Netscape
Communicator
Begin by opening your
Netscape Communicator Browser, once you see that the
program has stopped loading, you are ready to proceed
with the setup.
On your Netscape
browser select edit, from there scroll down and hit
preferences. This should bring up a window with a
list along the left side, We a re only interested in
the Mail & Groups. Ensure the symbol next to Mail
& Groups is a (-), if it is not double click Mail
& Groups.
First select identity
from the left, and enter the following info rmation
on the right. Your name and email address. The reply-to-address is only needed if
different from your email address. Select Mail Server
from the left, and enter the following information on
the right. Your Comcation user name. The outgoing mail(SMTP), and the
incoming mail(POP3) should both be set to
mail.comcat.com . Select Groups Server from the left,
and enter the following informati on on the right.
Enter the dicussion group (news) server
"news.comcation.net". Click OK.
You are now ready to
send and recieve mail
